Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer well recognized for her highly laudable performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter won many awards which included her first Oscar for her movie Piano. Actresses have a long career of involvement in Broadway off-Broadway, Broadway and various productions. Since her childhood she's been passionate about acting. She portrayed Helen Keller as a fifth-grade pupil in a school performance. After suffering from the mumps, she became deaf in one of the sides of her ears. However, this did not stop her ambition to pursue a career as an actress. She studied drama at college after which she moved from Pittsburgh and moved to New York City to follow her dream. Hunter was trapped in the elevator of the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They collaborated to create Broadway Crimes of the Heart that marked the debut of Hunter on Broadway. Her first film role came when she moved from Los Angeles. Since then she has appeared in many television series and movies in a long career that spans more than three decades. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
