Holly Hunter, an American film and actress, is renowned for her performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter won many awards and awards, among them an Oscar for her movie Piano. The accomplished actress started her career in acting on the stage by performing in a myriad of Broadway and Off-Broadway projects. As a child, Helen Keller was her favourite character in a fifth year play. After suffering from the Mumps, she was deaf on one side of her ear. But, it did not stop her ambition to pursue a career as an actress. She was a drama major at the college before moving to Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City to follow her dream. She met Beth Henley in an elevator and the pair collaborated on Broadway Crimes of the Heart, Hunter's first film. When she moved from New York to Los Angeles, Hunter tried to land film roles. The role of a supporting actress was secured for her in Swing Shift. In the three decades since then she has appeared in many films, television movies and series. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
